Question: Are There More Channels On Freesat Than Freeview?

We’re both free TV services, but Freesat is different because we’re broadcast via satellite.

This gives us brilliant reception across the whole of the UK, and capacity for many more channels than Freeview.

We have lots of top TV and Radio channels, including many of the Freeview favourites and 17 HD channels.

What channels are different between Freeview and Freesat?

Currently, Freeview provides access to four free HD channels (BBC One HD, BBC HD, Channel 4 HD and ITV1 HD), Freesat has five, and Freesat from Sky has six. This doesn’t necessarily mean they are equivalent in quality.

What channels are available on Freesat?

Alongside the five main TV channels – BBC One, BBC Two, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 – Freesat customers can access channels such as:

  • Entertainment: BBC Three, BBC Four, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4, E4, More4, 5 USA, 5 +1.
  • News: BBC News, BBC Parliament, Sky News, Russia Today (RT), Al Jazeera.
  • Films: Film4, True Movies.

Which is best Freeview or Freesat?

You get access to all the features of Freeview Play, with a few extra services and channels on top and the option to expand with premium, on-demand services. The hardware is slightly cheaper too. Freesat is a good choice if you have an existing satellite dish or live in an area with poor Freeview reception.
