Customers can cancel by phone, online messaging, email or by letter but will have to endure a phone call with Sky to verify the cancellation before it can be processed.
How do I cancel my Sky account?
Method 1 Cancelling Over the Phone
- Call the Sky contact centre. The most direct way to cancel your Sky subscription is to call up Sky’s customer contact centre.
- Get through to a representative.
- Ask to cancel your account.
- See out the notice period.
- Return the equipment.
Can I still use my Sky box if I cancel sky?
Obviously I will still have the dish and cables. When you cancel your subscription your Sky+ box will still work and using your now deactivated viewing card you will still be able to receive a handful of unencrypted free-to-view (FTV) channels, including BBC1, 2, ITV1, C4 and C5.
When can I cancel sky?

If you’re not happy with the price hike, you may be able to exit your contract with Sky penalty-free. If you’re still within your minimum term for a Sky broadband or phone contract and are affected by these price increases, you CAN cancel it without paying an early termination charge.

To cancel your Sky TV subscription, you need to give us 31 days’ notice, unless you’re within your cooling off period. Please don’t cancel your Direct Debit or any other ongoing payment with us, as further payments may still be due.

If are are cancelling you will need to give a minimum 31 days’ notice to end a Sky TV service while for Broadband and Sky Talk it’s 14 days. Unfortunately if you are mid contract on a Sky TV deal you won’t be able to switch without penalty. This means paying out the rest of your contract.

Sky boxes can now record without a sky channel subscription, previously £120 a year just enable recording.
Can you haggle with Sky?
Haggle! In short, haggling is the best thing you can do to get a cheaper deal with Sky. Sky practically tells you to do it on its ‘Stay with Sky’ page! All you have to do is call 03337 594 464 or get in touch via its online chat service, which is available from 7am-11pm.
What is classed as a new Sky customer?
Virgin Media told us a new customer is somebody who has not subscribed to their services for at least 12 months. After that period they’re fully eligible for new customer deals. Sky also say that to count as new, customers must not have been in receipt of any services for at least 12 months.
What happens if you don’t pay your Sky bill?
If you don’t pay your bill by your payment due date, we may charge a £10 late payment fee* and any costs we incur when recovering debt on your account. Your Sky services could also be restricted. Cancelling this payment will incur a chargeback fee by your card provider so we may pass this on to you.

Ending your Sky services
You can still cancel in that period but you will be charged up to that point. Your cooling off rights will be sent to you with your full terms and conditions. To end your TV contract you’ll need to give us a minimum 31 days’ notice which cannot end before your minimum term.
Can I pay off my Sky Mobile early?
If you already have an active Sky Mobile SIM, your payment due date won’t change and your first monthly phone/tablet payment will be collected on that day too. To pay off your credit agreement early, you can make additional payments.
